Alex J. Berger is an associate at Emerge Law Group, Oregon’s first full-service boutique law firm that primarily serves the cannabis industry. Alex assists marijuana and hemp businesses address complicate state and federal regulations, as well as licensing, regulatory compliance, food and drug, and land use issues. He focuses his practice on helping clients successfully navigate the often vague, ambiguous, and uncertain path toward maintaining lawful, compliant, and successful marijuana and hemp businesses. Alex has served on Oregon Liquor Control Commission, Oregon Health Authority, and Oregon Department of Agriculture advisory committees, lending his legal expertise and knowledge to help regulators craft reasonable and straightforward regulations to the benefit of a safe and prosperous cannabis industry. In 2019, Alex contributed to the National Cannabis Industry Association’s (NCIA) Public Comments Submission regarding Scientific Data and Information About Products Containing Cannabis or Cannabis-Derived Compounds. He also served on the NCIA Packaging and Labeling Committee and spoken at several marijuana and hemp industry conferences.
